Report blames Turkish pilots for 737 crash
Continuation of Turkish 737 crash at Amsterdam Airport:
04/3: A report released at a news conference about the crash of a Turkish Airlines Boeing 737 at Amsterdam Airport on 25 February puts the blame of the accident on the pilots. Nothing suggests that the accident was caused by any external factor or a mechanical problem with the aircraft. The report states that, after approaching the airport too high and too fast, the first officer, who was flying the plane, didn't follow the correct procedures to establish the aircraft on its correct final approach path to the runway. The aircraft ended up flying too slow and stalled before the crew could correct the error or initiate a go-around. Nine people, including the two pilots, died when the Boeing 737 hit the ground.
